The ACG Community Ensembles offer a welcoming environment for classical guitarists 18 years of age or older to make music with others who share your passion! There are opportunities for players at various experience levels.
This ensemble meets weekly on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m., and is intended for experienced players interested in performing advanced repertoire. Members should have command of scale, slur, and arpeggio techniques and be fluent readers in multiple positions.
This ensemble meets weekly on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is designed for intermediate players with a desire to perform beautiful music. Members should be able to read in first position, have a stable technique, and interest in developing their technical and musical abilities.
Our newest ensemble, created especially for our friends in South Austin! There are opportunities for players with previous experience, and special rates for current/former AISD teachers and guitar students. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Crockett High School (5601 Menchaca Rd).
Placement interviews for the ACG Choir and Chamber Ensemble will be held on August 20th and 22nd at the Rosette. Placement Interviews for the South Austin Guitar Ensemble will be held on Tuesday August 27th at Crockett High School. These interviews are free, informal, and provide a chance to get to know you, hear you play, and provide feedback.
